This is a picture from my daughter's wedding on June 5th. Isn't it beautiful? But it's beautiful for more than the occasion and the flowers, but the OPEN Bible! An open Bible is a read Bible, the best to have.
Psalm 19:7-10 reads:
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.
Look at what God's Word is called in these verses and what it does! It is POWERFUL!
HMMMM.....do I really desire God and His word more than gold? Do I really think it is sweeter than honey? If I do, then I will receive a great reward. A reward much better than gold or sweeter than honey....an eternity with HIM.
I really dont get this reward stuff..........There is nothing we do....everything is of Gods doing..........from creation to eternity, not for us But for Him. Its not that we couldnt stand not having a relationship with God it was because He couldnt stand a relationship without us.......His creation. If Im doing this for a reward than how much of it is really my doing?
ReplyDeleteWell, the Word says there is great reward...whether we do anything for, with, or by HIM...and as Cindy said, the reward is an eternity with HIM.
