We are avid listeners to Adventures in Odyssey. Or should I say my daughter is an avid listener. We just recently purchased 5 albums each containing at least 4 hours of adventures. In 4 days she has listened to 3 albums once. She will repeat them each at least another 3 times. Can you say "addicted?" As a mother, I am glad that she enjoys listening to something that has value. Rather than zoning out in front of the t.v. being bombarded with who knows what foolishness. I can be confident that she will come away with,

at a minimum, a life lesson to remember.
Two years ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Needless to say, this was a very stressful time for our family. On the nights when I was having trouble sleeping, I would lie in bed with my daughter and we would listen to episode after episode until both of us were lulled to sleep. Am I saying we were bored to sleep? Absolutely NOT! We were relaxed as we listened to these encouraging stories. We forgot our troubles and stress and were able to let our imagination take us to another place called Odyssey! Although this time in our lives was a trial, these CD's gave us some wonderful memories.
I am happy to report that I had a benign tumor successfully removed. 100% curable with surgery. We praise God for how he brought us through this.
Focus on the Family has provided album #48 entitled Heroes as a giveaway to one of my followers. Aptly named as Adventures in Odyssey has become one of my heroes :)
(sorry, I couldn't keep my daughter away from it, so this album has been listened to once)
Product Description
The kids from Odyssey manage to get themselves into - and out of - all kinds of interesting predicaments in these audio adventures. Rumor has it that the new family in town is connected to the Mafia, Odyssey Elementary School is troubled with bullies, and Lucy struggles with not telling a secret she vowed to keep. With a little prodding from Mr. Whittaker, they learn how God can help them deal with anything.

ReplyDeleteHi, I thank everyday for ALL the many blessings he has blessed my family with. I guess the main one would be that my son had brain surgery and I was told that he may never walk, talk or even know who I was. He told me at 5 yrs. old, right before he had surgery, that Jesus would take care of him, and for me not to worry. For a child so young to have that much faith in God, it taught me 1 that I had instilled good value in him at such a young age.

ReplyDeleteGod has helped me through so many trials - it's hard to write about just one. Recently, my marriage was being tested, and He helped us work through our issues and come out stronger on the other side. I know without His help and guidance, divorce would have been considered.
