Clay Creations from "Mike's Inspiration Station" DVD

Once a week, or whenever we can, we get together with friends for some geography and art.  This is what we did today in art:

We are using a program on DVD called "Mike's Inspiration Station".  These were made by students from the ages of 10 -16.  Bakeable clay was used and it took them about 1 1/2 hours to make these cute little dogs.
I find it interesting that even though they followed the SAME directions, each dog has it's own personality.
Here is 10 year old Brendan, very proud of his work!  He moved along very quickly and was the first to finish.  He used his own imagination without waiting for step by step instructions.
Now for 13 year old Ryan, Brendan's brother. He had a great time making the "extras".  The bones, dishes, feeding tube, and bow for Julie's doggy.
Julie is holding her "petite" dog.  She is 12 and also "petite".  She made the cap for Ryan's dog.

And finally, Zeke (16), looking a lot like his dog!  He carefully followed each instruction to make his masterpiece.

We had many a great time getting together for this activity.  Hopefully in the weeks to come, I can show you some more of what we are doing from "Mike's Inspiration Station".

If you are a home schooler, or just get together with friends for some fun, please comment below to share some of your fun with us!

  2. I just bought Mike's Inspiration Station Vol. 1-12 and I was sad to see there is not a supply list for each lesson. Did your group create a list of items needed? If so, could you please share it?
