God's Mighty Acts in Creation by Starr Meade Review

God's Mighty Acts in Creation is a handy little devotional for families.  Although it is geared toward 8 - 12 year olds, I feel it could be used  as a family devotional guide.  Many families wish to have a family worship time but just don't know where to begin.  This book can help kick-start that devotional time.   Each "lesson" is only 2 pages long, beginning with a Scripture text, followed by a well-written narrative, ending with an "as for me in my house" section to aid in discussion on the topic presented.

After the first two introduction lessons, which bring the readers to a place to think about their relationship to the Creator,  the book is broken down by the days of Creation (minus day 2).
  • Day 1: Light and Water (10 lessons)
  • Day 3: Land and Plants (10 lessons)
  • Day 4: Sun, Moon, and Stars (5 lessons)
  • Day 5: Birds and Fish (6 lessons)
  • Day 6: Animals and People (12 lessons)
No matter how you choose to use this book, as a family devotional or for your child's personal devotions, the reader will walk away with a better understanding of their Creator and His love for His creation.
