Downloadable Kids Games.com Review & Giveaway

CONGRATULATIONS GOES TO HOLLY AND HER SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS FOR BEING CHOSEN THE WINNER OF THIS GIVEAWAY!

For several years now we have been having  a family New Years Eve party.  We invite a couple of our best friends and their families to join us.  There is a wide age range of kids.  Usually ages 6 - 24 (hey, my child will always be my child no matter how old, lol)   We always try to do something fun with the kids.  Our first year doing this we had a pinata.   The last couple of years we've done various types of gingerbread houses.  This year I wanted something different.

While I was searching for something fun yet unique to do with the kids I  came across a comprehensive kids game site called downloadablekidsgames.com.

I have to admit I was a bit overwhelmed with the choices.  From all kinds of scavenger hunts to a crime scene investigation game to mystery games to.....well, I think you just need to head on over to www.downloadablekidsgames.com and see for yourself. :)

Susan at Haley Productions sent me via email attachment the game  Operation Catch Me If You Can Mystery Game/Scavenger Hunt.  The premise of the game is simple: the kids are attending a party of some sort. Once they’ve arrived and settled in they’ll be given 2 projects to complete (one is arts and crafts based; the other is a performance). After they finish these projects, things will take a surprising turn and they’ll be called upon to solve a mystery by putting together and/or finding clues that will lead them to a thief and a stolen item.  There's also a photo challenge using disposable cameras so the kids can capture the fun they're having.
I received this game within minutes of contacting her.

My download included:
  1. The game itself (of course)
  2. Organizer guidelines, step by step instructions and supply list.  This guide offers adaptations you can make to the game to best suit your needs.  They even provide  a “culprit quiz” so you can easily design clues leading to whodunit (one of the kids attending the party; you or one of your helpers will be the thief).
  3. Team name badges
  4. Team ID table tents
  5. Award certificates
  6. Thank you notes
  7. Invitation

After looking over all these pages, I am quite impressed!  This is complete.  There are step by step instructions on how to implement a successful game night.  There is a pre-party to do list and a supply list.  If you can read, you can facilitate this game.  It's all there for you.

I am excited to put this into action.  It's going to be hard to wait until New Years Eve, but I will.....what a great night this is going to be.  Many memories will be made.  I can hear the kids years from now saying, "Remember the New Years Eve when we did that scavenger hunt/whodunit game?  What a blast we had!!!"

I was going to wait to write my review on this until AFTER we actually used it...BUT then I thought that others may want to have some fun for their kids on New Years Eve, too!

  2. Sorry - my last post got posted too soon. I hadn't told you about the games. My favorite is What Happened to Cleodore the Cat? A Five Senses Theme Game. My granddaughter is 5 years old and this is about the only one that is for her age category. She'll learn so much from this.
