Mixbook review & giveaway

I am a "wanna-be" scrapbooker.  I'm not very creative at all.....not even a little bit.  BUT I do love looking at scrapbooks.  They are a beautiful way to keep memories alive.
I've tried the cut & paste, buy all the fancy scrapbooking supplies route.  I didn't last very long.  Besides the fact that all those supplies cost a ton of money, not to mention the space needed to keep it all, I'm just no good at it.
I wanted to buy a computer scrapbook program, but never found one that I liked.  Plus, think of all the ink that would be used!  Sounds expensive.
I have found the answer to my scrapbooking woes.....MIXBOOK, an online scrapbooking site.  It is absolutely amazing.
There is so much on this site that I don't think I can tell you all of it. BUT I definitely HAVE to tell you my favorite feature.  Auto Mix  All you have to do is upload your photos, pick your "theme", click Auto Mix and your book will be made for you!  Then you can add text and any extras you want!  Can you say EASY!  Love, love, love this feature!
If you are a bit more talented than I, you can design your own.   They have different layouts, stickers, backgrounds and so much more.  Just pick and click.  You can move things around, add text, upload photos from your computer, facebook, flicker, yahoo, photobucket, picasa and more!
There is a guided tour to show you around which I found very helpful.  Plus, their customer service is 5 stars!  They have an online chat to help you out if you encounter a problem, or just email them to get a quick response.
They not only offer photo books, but calendars, announcements, stationary, yearbooks, cards, so so much!

I was priviledged to make a 11 x 8.5 Classic Landscape, hardcover photo book.  My daughter was married last summer and she hadn't put together a wedding album yet.  So I decided to make a wedding album.  Well, actually I decided to allow her to make a wedding album.  She is so picky that I figured if I didn't let her do it, she probably wouldn't like what I did.  Here are her comments:

easy to use
lots of choices
fully customizable
like scrapbook without the mess and less time!
good quality...lets you know what photos won't come out as good
photos upload so fast
great product
fast shipping

As a teacher these are her final words:  all in all an A+

O.K.  this all sounds so nice...but what about the final product?  Look at these pictures and then decide:

COVER

2 page spread

13 photo layout page

BACK

The final product looks EXACTLY like what you see on your screen.   The size is just like a hardcover book. If you are not 100% satisfied Mixbook will refund your money!  Now that is confidence!

No more bulky scrapbooks taking up space on my book case!  This is the only way I will be scrapbooking from now on!  I've already started my next one ;)

  1. So I watched the video and I'm sold on it! Can't wait to create an album! I like how the video said you can add things like stickers and customize your layouts, etc. I just was on their site flipping through their pregnancy journals. I think I will make one of those first!

  44. Well what I thought was great about this type of scrapping is that you didnt have to have a whole room of supplies on hand to create a wonderful heirloom.everything was available at "the click" of a mouse...ones choice of backgrounds, embellishments.change the font to match the page. One could design directly from their photo library, ven facebook, which makes it not limitted to your own personal pics.and all with just a click. And if youve ever created a memory book, the endless hours of cropping pictures and using scissors can be monotenous. No glue..and the memory is their forever so even if the kids get ahold of it and want a specific picture they couldnt just take it out. Also what I am assuming is great about this is that it is "stored" and backed up within a memeory so that if something were to happen such as a disaster, it could be produced again. If I am chosen I have a "specific "family" book I would be using this for, but I wont discuss that cause I want this to be fair.
