One Month to Live Challenge: Day 3

How do I spend my time?  Do I waste it, or invest it?  Hmmmmm.....to be honest, I'd have to say that I mostly waste it.  But then again, I always seem to look at the negative.
Trying to be positive, I have invested the last 29 years in my marriage,  24 years in my kids and 30 years committed to serving God.  Guess that's really NOT all that bad!

Here are a few favorite quotes from this chapter:

You can experience the effect of multiplying your time by effectively managing how you apply your energy each day.

I'm NOT talking about how to add years to your life but rather how to add LIFE to your years.

We're conditioned to believe that in order for our time to be worthwhile, we MUST have something to show for it.

I'd venture that most of your precious memories occurred in spontaneous moments when you were paying attention to the present.

Make the most of your time by spending it on a legacy that will last long after your time on earth has ended.

This last quote makes me think of this song:

Today's "Make it Last for Life" asks:
How would you describe your current season of life?
Does it feel like you're buried beneath frozen tundra, emotionally hibernating?
Or is it more like spring, with signs of new life in view?
What does it mean for you to accept and honor your current season?

Unfortunately, I would have to say that my current season of life finds me buried beneath a frozen tundra, emotionally hibernating.
Most of my adult life has been raising children.  I am getting to the place where that is no longer my daily activity.  My youngest of 5 is now 13.  I'm still mom, but in a less "hands-on" way.  It has been an extremely hard transition for me.

It's time for me to find out who I am beyond MOM!

  2. You are in another one of those "transition" times in life. Now is the time to go back to working on your marriage. Won't be long when you will be as I am...taking care of your husband...whether he is well or sick. You started out together, now you will be returning to that stage.
You've done well as a mother all these years...now figure out what kind of wife will you be again.
You sure have a lot of memories!!

  3. @Amanda....way to make me cry !

@June....yea, well, as you know that is what I'm most afraid of. I've figured out why I've put so much into my kids...therefore, I don't want to go back to "before children"...
