After receiving some heart-breaking news this morning, God allowed me to stumble upon this song on another blog.
Although I would prefer a trial-free life, this song reminds me that God "loves me way too much to give me lesser things"
Laura Story - "Blessings" Lyrics
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things
‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe
‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home,
It's not our home
‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are your mercies in disguise
Daddy, I love you :)
Don't know what to say other than I love you and keeping your Dad and Mom in my prayers. I know that God has you tight in His arms and since I can't be there in person to hug you myself...there is no one better or loves you more than our Heavenly Father does. <3
ReplyDelete@lpb59Thank you, Lori...next time I see you I will expect one great hug!
ReplyDeleteYa just had to put that on, right?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful song and the words are just right. God takes care of everything!
In His time and in HIS way...that's where our trust comes in. HE's been so faithful to us over the years, how can we, as a family, doubt His goodness, even in this trial???
Dad loves you, too.
I just had this on my blog the other day-she has another song called Perfect Peace-if you haven't heard it google it-I bought the whole album with that song on it-love it.
ReplyDeletePraying for you!
Hugs
Jill
