MP3 from Eternal Encouragement Review & Giveaway

Is this true at your house?
"IF MOMMA AIN'T HAPPY, AIN'T NOBODY HAPPY"

I know it is at mine...but why is that?  What is this 'power' that moms have over their household?

Think of a big, strong, burly football player.  He's out on the field knocking heads, tackling the big boys and being a tough guy.

Now picture him sitting on the bench....

The camera pans over to him....

He senses that he's being watched...

What does he do?

He looks up with a loving twinkle in his eye, a silly grin spread across his face.  He raises his hand and waves.  We can read his lips...he's saying "hi mom"
REALLY????  "hi mom"....after playing hard like a caveman, who does he think of first?  MOM..

Moms, our influence is far reaching. Starting at home with our family, then into our neighborhood, our church, our friends and even our world....Our task is quite formidable!  Are we up to it?

Sometimes....

Yet, sometimes NOT...I know I need help.  Where do I turn?

Thankfully my Gabby Mom mission this month was to listen to two MP3 recordings by Lorrie Flem of Eternal Encouragement.

Keys to a Queenly Castle:  Are mothers housekeepers or Queens of their castle?

Attitude Adjustments:  "If Momma Ain't Happy, Ain't Nobody Happy"
name changed to Eternal Encouragement

Lorrie speaks with candor and gentleness. Both of these talks were amazing.  I was most encouraged or actually convicted by Attitude Adjustments.  I have struggled with my attitude for MANY years.

Here are some 'tidbits' from this MP3...just enough to give you a taste for more :)

Lorrie talks about 'attitude germs' that we each spread everyday, everywhere we are.  Using examples in scripture and our culture to show how attitudes are caught!  Good and bad!

I felt a piercing in my soul when she said, "You can control your attitude or it can control you"  Or "you can let someone else choose your attitude for the day"

I can think of homeschool days when I didn't want to have school....it sure didn't take long for the kids to feel the same way.  OR when one of the children gave me an attitude and I allowed it to control me.  Then the whole day is shot...nothing effective can come from these attitudes.

I have a confession to make....I am a control freak!  Oh yes, I want control over everything in my life.   All my "ducks in a row"...I've learned over the years that I really am NOT in control of much in my life.  Lorrie reminded me that I DO have control over my attitude.  I am the ONLY one who can choose my attitude each day, each moment, no matter what is going on around me.
My attitude should not depend on how I feel...it should come out of obedience.  Lorrie used an example of loving her husband.  Sure, at first she felt love for him, an attraction,  but as life happened she had to choose love for him out of obedience to God.  That 'feeling' of love comes and goes, but obedience should be what motivates us.

I have been married for 29  years and I can honestly say we have stayed married ONLY through God's grace.  There have been more times than I care to admit that I have not 'felt' love for him.  I'm sure he can say the same, BUT we chose to obey God and stay together.  (notice I didn't say chose to 'love' each other, haha)

What I have appreciated the most about the products from Eternal Encouragement that I have had the pleasure to review is that I am not just told what I should or shouldn't be doing but I am given practical ways to live it out.  Lorrie shares 26, A - Z, ways to 'attain and maintain a good attitude'.

Here's Q:  Quit your belly aching!  See what I mean, speaks with candor.  She won't just 'tickle your ears' I guarantee.

it seems that many of the same words hit home in a lot of the moms.
Just goes to show that we are much more alike than we even realize!
