I have homeschooled for 20 years now....quite a variety of curriculum has passed through these hands.  Over the years, I have purchased a wide array of books to use in our school.  Some were promptly returned or resold.  Others were used for a while, then boredom kicked in (with ME, not necessarily the kids!) and put aside.  
The 3 products I have used from Eagle's Wings were all  used to completion and thoroughly enjoyed.  So much so that this next year I am going to reuse their comprehensive Bible study/history course "Remembering God's Awesome Acts" once again. We have invited another family to join us as we journey through ancient history beginning in Genesis. 
I used "Remembering God's Awesome Acts" and the sequel "Remembering God's Chosen Children" and "Considering God's Creation" many years ago with my older children.  I am excited to return to Eagle's Wings products.                                    
The most exciting part of my reusing this curriculum is that they have come out with a NEW book called "A Complete Guide to Celebrating our Messiah in the Festivals".                                     The title is not kidding when it states COMPLETE.  This 688 page book is loaded with information and hands on projects!                 A perfect companion to our study using  "Remembering God's Awesome Acts". My plan is to intertwine the festivals as we approach them in our Bible/history study.  This will enrich our learning beyond anything I could imagine. 

This book begins with an introduction to the festivals in the Old Testament that the Jewish people were commanded to follow.  The next 1/3 provides year-round activities to use with the festivals.  The remainder of the book outlines each festival providing a background,  how to "do" that festival, songs, poems and stories to use, recipes to try and other fun activities.

The festivals included are:
  • Sabbath
  • New Moon-Rosh Hodesh
  • Passover-Pesah
  • Pentecost-Shavuot
  • New Year-Rosh Hashanah/Festival of Trumpets-Yom Teruah
  • Day of Atonement-Yom Kuppur
  • Tabernacles-Sukkot
  • Feast of Dedication-Hanukkah
  • Feast of Esther-Purim
When our year is complete, I expect to have a great notebook filled with insightful information about the Bible, ancient history AND the Biblical festivals.  Something more than just tests and grades to look back at years later and remember our exciting study using Eagle's Wings books.
