Over the years I tried several replacements for processed white sugar, but I was never consistent or found something that we really enjoyed. So we did still have sugared products, but rarely.
I have read about how stevia is a great alternative to processed sugar, but never tried it. I think I was a bit afraid of it.
I was thrilled when given the opportunity to review the products from NuNaturals. They have way more than just stevia as an alternative. They offer some items that I've never heard of....like 'Tagatose'. Click here to read about it.
Sugar cookies is one of my favorite cookies. Yea, I know, someone who wants to reduce sugar intake loves sugar cookies anyway, with the products sent to me from NuNaturals was a bag of Tagatose and some recipes to give it a try. I made some Sugar-Free Sugar Cookies with the Tagatose I was sent:
They were yum, yum, yummy! The whole family liked them a lot.
Now to try some of the stevia. The other sugary item I love is ice cream. Not only is that not a good choice because of the sugar content, but the dairy too. So when I saw this recipe, Banana-Vanilla Soft Serve Ice Cream, I knew I had to give it a try.
Blend together 1.5 medium frozen bananas. 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 10-12 drops NuNaturals Alcohol Free Liquid Vanilla Stevia, 3 cubes ice and 2 tablespoons water.
It was easy to make and very, very good to eat. It's very creamy until you freeze it, then it freezes SOLID. Just thaw a bit, stir and enjoy once again.
Another favorite is chocolate cake, so I decided to find a 'healthy' homemade one using stevia. I found a flourless chocolate cake using stevia here.
It was super good!
I've read that some stevia products have a very bitter taste. I did not notice any bitterness with the stevia I have used from NuNaturals.
Are you like me and have always wanted to try stevia but were a bit afraid of it? Well, here's your chance to try it risk and cost free! NuNaturals is offering four of you one bottle of EACH of the Lemon, Orange, and Peppermint Flavored Stevia Liquids, PLUS the NEW CHOCOLATE STEVIA LIQUID.
That's 4 bottles of stevia for 4 people!
WOW!!!!
Ok, so let's say you enter the giveaway but don't win....NuNaturals has you covered. They are offering everyone a 15% discount on your total order. Just use this discount code, BLG0613, at checkout. This code is good until June 30, 2013.
