I could explain what this art curriculum is all about, but why would I when you can hear it directly from the master artist, Pat Knepley:
Pat mentions Art Class which was the first set of DVD's offered by See the Light. As she stated, that was so well received that they were asked to create more....that's when Art Projects was born.
As part of CWA's review crew, I was sent Repeated Sweets DVD from the Art Projects collection.
In this DVD, Repeated Sweets, Pat Knepley takes you step by step to create a watercolor painting in the style of American Pop artist Wayne Thiebaud! Pat's teaching style is easy to follow and she is very thorough in her explanation of the concept. She explained each technique so simply that even this challenged artist could duplicate what she did. I enjoyed learning more about Wayne Thiebaud, seeing some of his pieces and learning how to replicate his style.
The teacher in me enjoyed the lesson with the art. She used art terms and explained them as she used them so I never thought, "huh? what does that mean?" I also liked how she incorporated a scripture lesson so easily. God is, afterall, the ultimate artist!
On the back of the DVD is a list of all the supplies needed to complete the project. This makes it easy to gather everything you need so you can just sit down and get started.
Each DVD is $14.99 if purchased separately. The set of 9 Art Project DVD's is $99.99. See the Light also offers a 9-month subscription for $12.99 a month. Each month you will receive one DVD in the set shipped free to you. I love this option and plan on using it next school year.
I have a copy of Volume 1 Art Class that I am going to give away to one of you. Once you view Pat in action you will be hooked and want more art lessons from her.
*I received a complimentary copy of Art Projects as part of the CWA review crew in exchange for my honest review.
Very nice prize!
