I have never given blood. Many, many years ago I tried to at a blood drive where I worked. I was told that I didn't weight enough to do so.
I checked the Red Cross website for eligibility requirements. Here they are:
Blood Donors Must:
- Be healthy*
- Be at least 17 years old in most states, or 16 years old with parental consent if allowed by state law – see more information for 16-year old donors »
- Weigh at least 110 lbs.
Additional weight requirements apply for donors 18 years old and younger and all high school donors.
Seeing that I don't meet the weight requirements, how about YOU give blood on my behalf?
You may save a life!

i wish i could give blood too!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder why there is a weight requirement?
