How to Have a H.E.A.R.T for your kids review & giveaway

GIVEAWAY ENDED

THE WINNER IS:

This newest book written by Rachael Carman and published by Apologia Press brought me to a place where I thought I already was....having a HEART for my kids, but made me realize that I fall waaaaay short in so many ways!

This book showed me that it is more than just having that "mother's love" for them.  As the chapters outline I need to:

Have  a heart for God
Enrich  your marriage
Accept     your     kids
Release  them to God
Teach them the truth

Have a heart for God?  Sure, I have that.  He is my Lord and Savior, what more is there?  Oh, so much more....
Having a heart for God requires self-discipline..building, working on a relationship with Him, DAILY!

Enrich my marriage?  Well, let's just say that I pray my children do a much better job in this area than I have done....I've shown them what NOT to do!

Accept my kids?  I've always known they were gifts from God, just sometimes I wasn't/aren't thankful for that particular gift, at that particular moment...I'm sure you know what I mean ;)

Release them to God?  Hahahaha....gotta admit, I've been forced to do this.  Once they start leaving home and there is no more control...who else am I going to release them to?

Teach them the truth?  Well, I always thought I did...come to find out I wasn't as good a teacher as I thought I was.  Somehow I guess I thought they should just know certain things.

There is no secret formula, no outline, acronym or analogy that will produce God-fearing/loving/honoring children. .... BUT as a parent we are commanded to teach them.

I believe it boils down to this:
Teach them to love God, show them that love and live it....then love others.

*disclaimer:  any "good" that my children are, is only because God has their heart!  It was nothing that I did or didn't do...
Thank you, Jesus for taking my "attempts" and making beautiful treasures!
