Wednesday's Hodgepodge

Wow, it's been a very long time since I posted with this hop....

1. Share something you loved about your Christmas day.
Quietness....yup, very quiet :)

2. You get to put five items in a time capsule to be opened in 100 years, what items would you choose and why?
     1.  Bible.  So people can see we used to carry one with pages that we had to turn to read it
     2.  pencil and paper.  Most likely everything will be technology related
     3.  picture of family.  Maybe my future family will want to know what we looked like in 2011
     4.  can of gasoline.  I hope they don't drink it!
     5.  lightbulb.  I'd love to be there to see what is done with that.

3. What do you like on a cracker?
Grape jelly, that's it

4. Do you make resolutions? How'd that work out for you this past year?
I know better than to make resolutions...I figure I'll hit them every time if I don't make any!

5. What's a song or song lyric you'll associate with 2011?

I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I
fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

This is where my dad is today.....

6. How will you ring in the new year?
Every year we either attend or host a New Year's Eve get-together.   This year it is our turn to host it.  I was planning on having a smaller party, but it just keeps growing.  That's ok, it will be what it to be.

7. What is something you look forward to in 2012?
My Sampy-June's wedding in August...and all the planning beforehand ;)

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Losing a parent is much, much harder than I ever thought it would be.....

  2. Losing a parent is hard...so sorry for you loss this year. My dad passed away a number of years ago but it was only a couple of weeks before Christmas so the holidays are always bittersweet around here.

Hope 2012 is full of joy!
