This one is for the young moms.....

Do you ever wonder as a young mom if what you do every day is really worth it?

Does anyone really care that you are putting your all into your family every single minute of every day?

The laundry, cleaning, dishes, food preparation, settling arguments, kissing boo-boos, changing diapers, and on and on.   It seems never-ending....

You could have chosen a different career.

You've had opportunities.

Plenty of people have questioned why you are 'only' a wife and mom.

The obvious answer is Jesus cares and He sees, He knows...and that should be enough, but realistically, in the day-to-day,  that is often NOT enough.

THEN every once in a while that special moment happens and you know you have made the RIGHT choice...

It could be that lil laugh from your child as you tickle them

or that hug and the whispered "I love you, mom"

Maybe it's the homemade card written with childish words and a rough drawing of a happy family holding hands with hearts all around.

OR your teenage son calling to say "thanks for all you do"

Those precious moments come in a blink and leave in a twinkle....and we forget them as we continue with the many projects vying for our attention.

Time passes, they change but you don't see it until one day

 they are all grown......

And you feel like the mommy days are over.......no more kissing boo-boo's,  or crudely made cards....no, not anymore.

BUT the truth is, the mommy days are NOT over.   A mom's heart is always with her children, whether they are in the home or out on their own.

There still are those special moments that you tuck away to hang onto when you are feeling unloved, unneeded.

I've received a few of these recently:
The son who thought I was the stupidest woman on earth when he became the smartest teen to ever live telling me I really do know it all :)  (I did NOT correct him!)

A daughter who calls almost daily to chat about life.  AND thanking me for listening.  No thanks necessary, I'm your mom!

My oldest who is getting married in August posting this song on my FB wall and making me cry:

All this to say.....

IT IS WORTH EVERY SINGLE MINUTE

I linked up with Mama Moments Monday at A Mama's Story.

  2. Yes, it was so great to hear that song...even though I bawled like a baby!
