I'm going to do this in 30 DAYS!

30 Day Shred Revisited

8 MONTHS LATER.......

It has been approximately 8 months since I first began this killer program:  The 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels.  It took me 60 days to complete it the first time around.  Read all about that tortuous journey here.

Since I completed this DVD in April, I continued on doing various other workout routines I found via YouTube over the last 6 months.  I have found and love pilates!

My body has changed quite a bit over the past 6 months.  I have lost 5 pounds and toned up all over.  My clothes no longer fit well, I need a belt.  Clothes that were a bit tight before, fit nicely now.  Overall, I feel much better.  More energy, better attitude.

The other day I was wondering IF I could do The 30 Day Shred and not feel as if I were dying.  After all, I've been exercising fairly consistently since completing this program.

I decided I would test myself during the month of October and attempt to complete the 30 Day Shred in 30 days as it was designed.

Monday Morning, October 1st.....

I completed level one successfully and completely without feeling like throwing up or like I was dying.  I will admit that I had to adjust a couple of the moves due to my knees.  I don't want to aggravate that problem again.  BUT I kept moving the whole time, completing each section without breaks!  Yea, and that is only day ONE!  Go ME!!!!

Tuesday Morning, October 2nd....

I can hardly move!  Seriously!!!  My legs, butt and thighs, chest and shoulders are KILLING me!  Ok, I will do pilates today, my body needs something not quite so strenuous.

Wednesday Morning, October 3rd....

In goes the DVD...  Yes, I can do this.
What was the hardest part for me when I did this DVD in the spring-the abs section-is the easiest now.  My abs have improved so much, and it is very noticeable.  Cardio is not so bad either.  I keep moving the whole time.  I'd say my weakest area now are my arms. I tire easily lifting those 3 lb weights...but I don't give up and I complete the set.  I am astonished that I can actually complete this 20 minute workout and not feel half dead.  WOW!
